Richard Joseph Spinelli is an avid tennis player and fan who has attended the US Open for nearly twenty consecutive years, with the goal of seeing all four Grand Slam tournaments in one calendar year. These eight entries describe the four majors one by one, the grounds in Queens, the rare calendar year sweep and the recreational game played on public courts. Aerial images studied by The New York Times in 2025 showed over 8,000 American tennis courts given over to pickleball, and the US Open set an attendance mark of 776,120 in 2022, the Associated Press found.
